Before our first long-haul flight with Celine, I was SO nervous ✈️🙈

I kept wondering:
Will she cry the whole flight?
Will we sleep?
What if she gets unwell during the flight?

But honestly… traveling with a baby turned out to be much softer and easier than we expected 🤍

Of course, every baby is different and we were lucky with a calm traveler, but these are a few things that genuinely helped us during our international flights:
– reserving a bassinet early
– choosing night flights
– feeding during takeoff & landing
– walking around the plane
– taking everything step by step
– staying calm together as parents

And most importantly:
you do not need to do everything perfectly.

She couldn’t have solids yet (5 months old)… only fruit and veggies tastings.
but the judgment every time we ate 😭
We were on parental leave overseas so we kept it safe.

Now with 8 months she has tried many different foods and one bite of an ice cream 🥹

I’ve been to Costa Rica twice now. Once for 2 mont

I’ve been to Costa Rica twice now.
Once for 2 months (5 years ago), and once for a month with a baby 👶🇨🇷
And if there’s one thing I’d do the same every time: road trip it. 🚗

This country is incredible, but also… a bit deceiving 😅
Distances look short on the map, but drives can take way longer than expected. However the main roads are great!

That’s why my biggest tip:
✨ Don’t try to see everything
Pick a few places, stay longer, and actually enjoy them.

Some of my personal favorites:
🌿 Arenal
🌊 Santa Teresa (dat trip to Montezuma)
🌴 Uvita
🌳 Corcovado
🐢 Tortuguero

💡 My rule: the less time you have → the fewer places you should visit

And because you’ll be moving around:
We always rent a car for full flexibility, especially with changing weather and remote areas.
We personally used @sunny_cars_autoverhuur because everything is insured, which honestly gives so much peace of mind.
